Overview of the Clearfield® Commitment for lentils.

The Clearfield Commitment, an agreement between the grower and BASF, is an important part of growing Clearfield lentils. Not only does it serve as a licence allowing the grower to access the benefits of the Clearfield trait, it also preserves the integrity of the Clearfield trait, delivering the same level of germination and vigour you’ve come to expect from the Clearfield system.

Details of the evergreen Clearfield Commitment for lentils.

Dedicated to improving its processes, BASF updated the Clearfield Commitment to an evergreen Commitment in 2015. That means growers who signed a Commitment in 2015 - 2020 will not be required to sign again. However, growers who did not purchase Clearfield wheat in the listed years will need to sign a Commitment for the 2021 season.

  • Sales period for Clearfield wheat and registered chemistry is October 1, 2020 – September 30, 2021

  • Deadline for submitting the Clearfield Commitment form is July 9, 2021

Clearfield-Confirm Testing

You can source seed directly from your local seed grower. Contact BASF Ag Solutions Customer Care to find out who has Clearfield lentil seed or use your own farm-saved seed. Prior to growing from your own seed or selling it to others, you must first have it Clearfield-Confirm® tested to ensure it has not been contaminated with non-Clearfield seed. This test is free for the 2021 growing season and, while you’re at it, you can also get a free pre-seed quality and disease test package.1

1 Limit of one (1) bonus pre-seed test package per eligible farm.
