What are the disease symptoms for anthracnose?

Disease symptoms of anthracnose can include defoliation and stem girdling. Initial symptoms appear as tan and lens-shaped lesions on infected tissues.  Although warm, moist weather provides the ideal conditions for spores to spread, anthracnose occurs consistently in lentil acres. Diseased patches show up in the field as yellow or brown patches that can expand rapidly. Anthracnose is the major fungal disease in lentils.
