BASF is pleased to announce that it has completed its divestment of the Clearfield^® system for canola in North America to Corteva Agriscience^™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont. The divestment includes the herbicide tolerance trait in North America, as well as the imazamox/imazapyr herbicides under the Ares^® brand and the imazamox herbicides under the Tensile^® brand in Canada. The divestment, which took effect on February 20, 2019 is in response to the Consent Agreement entered into by BASF to eliminate any potential concerns of the Canadian Competition Bureau regarding BASF’s recent purchase of InVigor^® and the LibertyLink^® canola system in 2018 from Bayer. BASF’s business in North America, as it relates to the breeding, marketing and sale of canola seeds under the Clearfield brand, as well as the marketing and sale in Canada of the imazamox/imazapyr herbicides under the Ares brand and the imazamox herbicides under the Tensile brand, is now owned by Corteva Agriscience^™.
