BASF introduces Centurion ADV, a herbicide solution for Eastern Canadian soybean systems

  • Centurion ADV helps growers effectively manage volunteer corn and grassy weeds to protect soybean yield potential and quality

CALGARY, ALBERTA, November 25, 2025 – As resistance challenges intensify and seed traits evolve, Canadian growers need scientifically backed tools to stay ahead. To help meet that need, BASF Agricultural Solutions Canada Inc. (BASF) is excited to launch Centurion® ADV, a group 1 herbicide available in Eastern Canada, to help soybean growers confidently manage volunteer corn and tough grassy weeds while protecting yield potential, maintaining crop quality and enhancing flexibility.

“The effective management of volunteer corn, including Enlist™ corn, has become more difficult for Canadian soybean growers,” said Chris Vander Kant, Corn, Soybeans & Horticulture Crop Manager, BASF Agricultural Solutions Canada. “Their tolerance to quizalofop-based solutions means growers require a different option to clean up their fields. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Centurion ADV to Eastern Canada — a reliable, targeted solution to help farmers manage volunteer corn and other grasses.”

The launch of Centurion ADV reflects the continued investment by BASF in herbicide innovation driven by farmer challenges. Designed to integrate seamlessly into all soybean systems, Centurion ADV features a built-in adjuvant that simplifies handling, eliminating the guesswork around adjuvant selection and mixing to help save growers time in the field. It also offers flexible tank mix compatibility, with Liberty® herbicide and glyphosate, providing enhanced control options against tough-to-manage weeds.

Centurion ADV is also registered for use on canola and dry beans, plus horticulture crops including potatoes, highbush blueberries, dry bulb onions and more, providing a convenient option for grassy weed management.
