BASF receives Health Canada PMRA registration for Revysol fungicide

Calgary, AB, November 18, 2019 – BASF recently received registration for Revysol® fungicide, its newest active ingredient (AI). Revysol fungicide is the first and only isopropanol azole of its kind in the Canadian market. This AI provides fast-acting and long-lasting disease control for a broad range of crops and disease combinations. Two new fungicides, Cevya® and Maxtima® fungicide featuring the new Revysol AI, are now available.

“Our Revysol fungicide will provide our Canadian growers with an outstanding new tool for disease management,” said Jon Sweat, Vice President, BASF Agricultural Solutions Canada. “This AI is the result of years of research and expertise, designed to help growers manage their toughest disease challenges, including resistant plant pathogens.”

Revysol fungicide has a unique isopropanol link that can flex to control a broad spectrum of fungal diseases and strains resistant to demethylation inhibitors (DMI).

Now available in Canada*

Cevya fungicide
Cevya fungicide is a systematic fungicide providing preventative and post infection control of key diseases in fruits and vegetables including apples, potatoes and sugar beets. For growers challenged with resistance and seeking to maximize their yields, Cevya offers protective and post infection action against many weather conditions, and crop protection with an ability to penetrate leaves and collect within them to work faster and longer than other chemistries.

Maxtima fungicide

Maxtima fungicide features the new Revysol active ingredient and provides golf courses with broad-spectrum control on diseases such as dollar spot, anthracnose and key patch diseases. Unlike DMIs in the Canadian market, Maxtima fungicide is the first isopropanol-azoles, a unique chemistry that helps ensure excellent binding capacity and adaptability through its molecule flexibility. This offers control even on plant pathogen strains that are insensitive to DMIs. Superintendents can learn more about Maxtima fungicide here.

About Revysol

Revysol fungicide is unlike any competitor in the market due to its exceptional biological performance against several economically significant diseases. “Revysol fungicide will give growers the confidence to manage disease and resistance effectively while reducing their exposure to weather-related risks,” said Jeff Bertholet, BASF Technical Service Manager.
